Liz Lisa x Madoka★Magica Collab Haul

***WARNING: THERE MAY BE SPOILERS***

OOPS LATE BLOG POST. I had so much going on okay, I was contracted with another research position and I was doing some game developing work!

~ I'm back to blogging with another haul. This time it's Liz Lisa's first collaboration with an anime! I'm sure y'all know about Madoka Magica and the "lovely" magical girliness of this anime. Specifically, Liz Lisa collaborated with just the Madoka Magica Rebellion movie, which was a continuation of what happened in the last episode.

Now, if you know me, I'm a giant lame nerd for magical girl and if I had enough money, my room would be covered in this stuff if it weren't already covered in plush toys + arpakassos. When I found out this collab was coming out I was uber excited cuz it's one of my all time favourite animes! But it was disappointing for me because well... the collab item's don't seem to be prominently Madoka themed. Idk why but I was hoping there'd be a Kyubey printed dress or something but there was more focus on symbolism though which I can explain later.

The collab had a bit of a steeper price, but you know that's due to licensing, and I also used the 16th anniversary 16% off coupon.

Specifically, I got this entire setup, the cardigan with the pink bows on the wrists, and this pink ribbon bow skirt. Very cute and "Madoka" coloured theme. It came in a bordeaux colourway, but that sold out at the time, but I'm fine with these two items.

《LIZ LISA×魔法少女まどか☆マギカ》ローズ刺繍カーディガン

Liz Liz x Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Rose Embroidery Cardigan
"Based on the image of Madoka, the collar has Madoka's weapon, which is the bow and arrow,
and incorporates gold threaded rose motifs. On the back in English, 'Don't tell anyone
in class ok?' is embroidered in gold thread. Without fail, this cardigan will surely match
the released skirts and OP."

Translated that myself to the best of my abilities, if there's any mistakes please let me know because I'm forever learning. Like I said, this collab is loosely based on the anime and has a lot of symbolism, as read in the description that I translated there are key points that symbolize Madoka as a magical girl (ultimate Madoka using bow and arrow). As well as the "Don't tell anyone in class, okay?" was more for during the series which was her friendship with Mami which was the catalyst of the plot since Mami educated her about the role of a  magical girl. Maybe I'm over thinking it lol, maybe I'm just making some bs up to justify this purchase that's barely Madoka themed LOL. Although, it is a cute cardigan and the colourway would definitely match a lot of my other clothes!

I was pretty shocked to see that the cardigan is ivory coloured instead of a bright white as advertised in the stock photos and in the adverts. I was pretty disappointed to be honest and I should have expected it because Liz Lisa stock photos are getting super washed out now. As you can tell with the buttons, the collar is detachable in case you didn't like it. I was also disappointed that the bows didn't match the pink on the skirt, but I'm also kind of glad because the pink bows match my other Liz Lisa stuff too, and if it was the same colour... then it wouldn't really match too much of my clothes. It's decently thick actually and it kept me warm during this year's winter (which wasn't even too cold).

Liz Liz x Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Cookie Ribbon Print Panel Skirt

"Five magical girls transforming soul gems in icing cookie style motif! Mami-san's cake and teacup
and also the icing cookie style was incorporated! With two slightly larger ribbons,  let the cuteness
go up!"

More symbolism! This was based off that cake song where they sang that cute little song and bebe eats the "nightmare". I see a couple of the girls' soul gems and it has all their names on it. The ribbon part on the bottom doesn't stand out as much as the bordeaux counterpart but for once I actually appreciate the hemline being a bit subtle so it doesn't look too overwhelming.

The bottom of the skirt is also ivory or even beige like the cardigan.  Once again, I was hoping it'd be a bright white but I got beige details. Curse you Liz Lisa and your damn over exposure. There are little cookies and sweets, roses, and names all over the skirt. Normally I'd be like wtf, but this isn't the first piece I own that has a bunch of random names on it.

This skirt is long as hell though. I'm standing at (unfortunately) 5 feet and it's pretty long at me, like it hits me right at the top of my waist so it wouldn't cut so much length off my tiny legs. I could wear the cardigan over the skirt instead of tucked inside, but then I'd be covering the double bows.

AND FINALLY THE WORN PHOTOS

Cross Flower Jumper Skirt

Floral cross that has that diamond shape and I thought it was a coffin oopz
No description of this cuz I'm lazy .Not part of the Madoka Magica collab but I really liked this. I always complain that jumper skirts make me feel really young and then my dumb ass buys this instead of the sukapan. I didn't even know this had crosses, I just saw the blue colour way, fell in love, and bought it without thinking. I really like the combination of the blue and the pink though! The crosses kind of make it a bit condescending which I like since the diamond pattern around it reminds me of a coffin. I can be creepy and cute without people realizing lololol.
